Topic : Study of the cryovolcanic activity on Europa

Supervision :

Description :

Modelling of the effusive cryovolcanic activity on Europa

  • Modelling of a freezing cryomagma reservoir stored in Europa’s ices
  • Numerical simulation of the eruption of reservoirs
  • Study of the consequences of the presence of salts on the feasibility of the eruption
  • Modelling of the ice rheology around the reservoir as a function of the ice temperature and composition
  • Search for geomorphological signatures of an effusive cryovolcanic activity on Europa
  • Constraining the eruption model thank to the morphological evidence

Key words : cryovolcanism, cryomagma, eruption, multiphysics modelling, icy moons.
