Master 2nd year

At M2, students may choose to follow a "full" course (in one of the dominant theme proposed, namely physics or geology), or mix with other training units, with the agreement of the teaching staff concerned about the consistency of their choices. The choice of teaching units within the course is conducted in consultation with the head of the trail and the entire teaching staff. Two courses-types are however recommended to students based on their preferred disciplines (geology / geophysics or physics). The M2 level of planetology can lead to a PhD in planetary science, but also in related areas of environment or astrophysics.

- First semester

Students who have completed a course of Earth Sciences will offer an education upgrading in physics, a full week in early training. This upgrade will also be accessible to other students.

The proposed units are the following :

The unit UE 0 is mandatory. Two courses-types are offered to students of M2, one dominant is "External planetary envelopes", the other one is "Internal planetary envelopes". The definition of the courses for a student must be done by selecting seven teaching units within a dominant, which must be supplemented by at least 3 units within other training. Teaching units of the two dominant paths are given in the following lists:

- Dominant "External planetary envelopes" :

- Dominant "Internal planetary envelopes" :

Depending on the wishes of students, and in coordination with the teaching staff, modulations are possible, especially in the direction of greater interdisciplinarity Physics / AstroGeology.

- Second semester

The second semestre consists on an internship in a research institute in France or in a other country. As an example, here are the subject of previous alumnii

This Master diploma drives the students to research carrier and permitted to continue with PhD thesis for 67 % since 2004-2005.
